Social Action | Mid East The Gaza Blockade -- Is It Good for the Jews?
Tuesday, July 20
7:30pm
Workmen's Circle, 1762 Beacon St., Brookline
In the wake of the May 31 Israeli raid on the "Gaza Flotilla," the eyes of the world have been opened once again to the fact of the Israeli blockade of Gaza. Please attend our panel (& audience!) discussion to consider the humanitarian situation in Gaza; the response of the Boston Workmen's Circle to date -- as well as that of the wider Boston Jewish community; and what Peter Beinart has recently dubbed "the failure of the American Jewish establishment" to build "pro-Israel" sentiment among (especially younger) American Jews. Panelists are three widely respected long-time Boston WC activists: Mike Felsen, Alice Rothchild, and Mitch Silver.
Refreshments served.
Sponsored by the Boston WC Mid-East Working Group
