Statement on Congressional Vote to End Military Aid to Israel
Boston Workers Circle (BWC), a secular Jewish organization over a century old, notes with pride and gratitude that the entire Massachusetts’ House congressional delegation has voted to end military aid to Israel. Senators Markey and Warren are also on record opposing further military aid to Israel. For years, BWC has called for “an end to US military aid, which has enabled Israel’s violations of human rights and International Law.” We deeply appreciate that our representatives in the House and Senate have come to the same judgement. In doing so, we believe they are promoting our democratic values and the long-term interests of all Jews, Palestinians, Israelis, and Americans.
We encourage our Boston Workers Circle community in Massachusetts to send thank you messages to your State reps for voting to end military aid to Israel. You can find your representatives here. Here is a sample message you can use to craft your letter:
Dear [Name of Rep],
It is with pride and gratitude that I want to thank you, along with the entire Massachusetts’ House congressional delegation, for voting to end military aid to Israel. As a member of Boston Workers Circle, a secular Jewish organization over a century old, we have been calling for “an end to US military aid, which has enabled Israel’s violations of human rights and International Law.” I deeply appreciate that all of our representatives in the House and Senate have come to the same judgement. In doing so, I believe you are promoting our democratic values and the long-term interests of all Jews, Palestinians, Israelis, and Americans.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]
