Health/COVID Information

The BWC Health and Safety Committee, along with the staff, are looking forward to bringing our community back together in a manner that is safe, meaningful, accessible, and inclusive.

As we believe our liberation is bound to all others, so must our health be bound to all others. For this reason, we will be considering the effects of how our actions affect not just ourselves but the global community. Using the lessons learned from the pandemic, we are working to make programming accessible at home and in person. BWC has installed air filters to improve air quality, as well as new audio/visual equipment to allow for hybrid in-person and remote meetings and events in the Webster St. building.

We are using recommendations from the CDC, Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Brookline School Departments, and consulting with local congregations to guide our planning.

Here are the current guidelines for our building:

  • Air filters should be turned on in whatever room is being used, and set to run for 2 hours after the event
  • Event publicity and registration forms should include: ‘Please do not attend if you are ill. If you have had direct exposure to any illnesses, please test if you are coming to a large event.
  • In-person classes: Please stay home if you have had a fever in the past 24 hours. If you are feeling ill, but are improving and have tested negative for COVID, you may participate by wearing a mask and socially distancing.
  • Shule is following the Brookline Public School guidelines.
  • Masks are engouraged for large groups.
