Boston Workers Circle stands with the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) in strongly condemning “the baseless accusations made by Jonathan Greenblatt, the CEO of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), which equated peaceful student protestors exercising their First Amendment rights on college campuses with members of terrorist organizations (Isis and al -Qaeda.)” As MPAC has stated “This is merely the latest example of how the ADL, a purported civil rights organization, throws academic freedom and 1st Amendment rights under the bus using debunked, discredited, and discriminatory social science based on harmful stereotypes of Arabs, Muslims, and Palestinians.”

As a progressive Jewish organization, it is important at this time that we stand visibly and firmly with the Muslim, Arab and Palestinian communities who are continuously targeted by this kind of outrageous and racist rhetoric. We know that our safety as Jewish progressives is interconnected with the safety of our neighbors. We must not let Greenblatt speak in our name.
