On Sunday, April 27, 2025, sixty-five of us gathered for a hybrid event: Health for Palestine with Nidal Al-Azraaq, director of 1for3.org and Dr. Karameh Kuemmerle, co-founder of Doctors against Genocide (DAG). The event was presented by two BWC social justice committees: the Jewish Muslim Solidarity Committee and the Palestine Solidarity Subcommittee of the IPC. The focus was on life in the West Bank and the impact of the occupation and escalating violence on the lives and health of Palestinians, particularly those living in refugee camps. 1for3 has undertaken an amazing project which trains and employs community health workers. Nidal and Karameh’s presentation and slide show gave us an up close view of the heart-breaking and dire circumstances under which people live and the resilience and strength of people fighting to maintain their communities and survive.
