BWC is a cosponsor in the upcoming screening of “Sumud: A Doctor’s Report on Genocide & Survival in Gaza,” a short, new documentary which follows an American anesthesiologist who volunteered in Gaza. It features commentary from journalist and writer Omar el Akkad, whose “One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This” just won the National Book Award. The film speaks to the genocide in Gaza, and, most particularly, to the destruction of hospitals and medical care systems there.
The film will be introduced by its director, Jan Haaken, who along with special guest Dr. Karameh Kuemmerle, cofounder of Doctors Against Genocide, will engage with the audience afterward.
This event will be a fundraiser for two important organizations: Doctors Against Genocide and the Gaza Mental Health Foundation. Registration is required.
