It’s a frightening moment in the U.S. With an administration detaining and deporting legal residents with no charges, ignoring judges’ orders, and firing thousands of vital government workers with no just cause, it appears no democratic norms are safe. It can be hard not to lean into fear, isolation and despair, but we know that there are members of our community who lived through–and fought back–during McCarthyism, the Vietnam War, and other periods of intense government repression. Join BWC’s membership committee for a Shabes to learn from their wisdom, and build community together!
