“My task is not to debate whether I’m a Jew or not, but to figure out what kind of Jew I am. For me, finding a secular Jewish community with progressive politics fits my version of that identity.”

Vicki Gabriner and Linda Stern, Boston Workmen's Circle members and sopranos in A Besere Velt, Boston Workmen's Circle's Yiddish community chorus, have recently had their work published in a new book, The Great Lawrence Textile Strike of 1912: New Scholarship on the Bread & Roses Strike.
They write about ABV’s process in creating recent concerts on commemorating centennials of the Triangle Shirtwaist fire and the Bread & Roses strike. Their chapter is entitled "The Cloth From Which We Are Cut: Using Music, Narration, & Images to Tell the Story of the 1911 Triangle Shirtwaist Fire."
Vicki and Linda will be reading at main branch of Brookline Public Library on Wed., Dec. 3. at 7 pm.
