Iyad Burnat is a prominent Palestinian human rights activist and the head of the Bil’in Popular Committee Against the Wall, where he has spent decades leading community-based nonviolent resistance in the occupied West Bank. Recipient of the prestigious James Lawson Award for Achievement in the Practice of Nonviolent Conflict and author of Bil’in and the Nonviolent Resistance, Burnat offers an invaluable, first-person perspective on organizing popular movements, protecting land rights, and mobilizing global solidarity. His organization’s grassroots organizing in Bil’in served as the focal point for the Oscar-nominated documentary 5 Broken Cameras.

Organized by the Boston Workers Circle Israel/Palestine Committee, this event features Burnat combining visual media, personal testimony, and strategic insights on grassroots action to examine the realities of life under occupation, the intensified settler assaults, and the enduring strength of nonviolent popular resistance.

After Burnat’s presentation, we will have time for Q&A with him and a time to take action, including support for Iyad’s village. During the last 30 minutes we will discuss IPC’s 2026-27 plans, goals and priorities.
