More about A Glezele Tey!
Featuring original tkhines (traditional Ashkenazi prayers centering the experiences of women, trans, and gender non-conforming people, set to new melodies) and new Yiddish movement songs of grief, defiance, collective care, and liberation – this music welcomes you to our tish (kitchen table) for a glezele tey (a little glass of tea), warming you from the inside as we share in our joys, sorrows, and dreams for a frayer velt—a freer world.
A Glezele Tey is Ariel Shapiro (accordion, vocals), Rachel Leader (fiddle), and Richie Barshay (percussion, vocals), with special hometown guest Kirsten Lamb (bass, vocals).
