Tenth Anniversary of 9/11: Massachusetts Remembers

The Hatch Shell at the Esplanade (WC meets at Park St. Station)

2:00pm Gather at Park Street station with other Workmen's Circle members to walk to the Esplanade to sit together at the event. Members will wear Workmen's Circle stickers, so our group can be identified.

2:30 pm The Hatch Shell at the Esplanade. Workmen's Circle members will look for other groups in the interfaith coalition so that we can sit together on the Esplanade, but organizations are not expected to display banners.

Everyone is invited to stand with the Workmen’s Circle banner at “Massachusetts Remembers”, a 10th anniversary commemoration of 9/11.  We have been an active member of an interfaith coalition - with Muslim, Sikh, Jewish, Christian, UU and other partners – which has been helping to plan the event.  Our community’s participation is a visible expression of our commitment to creating a society that honors and makes room for diverse expressions of belief and spiritual tradition.

The event will include spiritual reflections, performances by the Boston Pops Brass and Boston Children's Chorus, artwork and more.

The interfaith coalition is invited to gather at 2:30 PM on the Esplanade so that we can to sit together at a space reserved for us.  "Massachusetts Remembers" will provide an opportunity not only to look back but also to look forward, united by our shared values of security, liberty and justice for all.
