Sharing Our Stories: An Oral History Project on Jewish Identities and Histories

Boston Workmen's Circle

From which continents, experiences, and relationships do we trace who we are and where we come from?

Last fall, Boston Workmen’s Circle offered two programs that explored Jewish identity and diversity. This spring, we're bringing the conversation about Jewish identity to our own community. Get trained on how to collect oral histories, and document community members’ stories about Jewish identity, class, and radical activism.

Join us on June 1 for a training on collecting oral histories, led by Etta King from the Jewish Women’s Archive. Each participant will be paired with somebody from a different generation in the Boston Workmen’s Circle community, and will have an opportunity to document that person’s story and to have their own story documented. After collecting the stories, participants will distill a snapshot (audio, photography, and/or transcription) from the interview to present at a gallery exhibit in the fall.
