Dear Congresswoman Pressley, 

Boston Workers Circle, a 125 year old Massachusetts Jewish legacy organization, writes in support of your  brave stance calling for a ceasefire in Gaza  for condemning the Republican Islamophobic censure of Representative Tlaib, and for your powerful November 14th  floor speech condemning  antisemitism, Islamophobia, and all forms of hate.

We note that Boston Workers Circle, a Jewish cultural and social justice organization with over 700 members located in Brookline, has members who live in Brookline, Dorchester, Jamaica Plain, Cambridge, Newton and other cities and neighborhoods, many of whom are your constituents.

We join in your heartbreak and grief with over 1,200 Israelis and 24,000 Palestinians killed over the course of 100 days, and over 100 hostages still held captive by Hamas in Gaza.

As an organization devoted to the active pursuit of social justice, we are grateful to have representation in the halls of Congress that reflects our shared values. After the horrific October 7 Hamas attacks we issued a statement that reads: 

“Even in the midst of our immense grief over the lives of Israelis and Palestinians lost, we remain committed to our vision of a political solution based on justice and equality for Israelis and Palestinians. We reject a path forward characterized by the pursuit of vengeance. This is a moment that calls for abandoning the failed policies of the past, and instead, seeking new approaches to bring justice, equality and peace to both Israeli Jews and Palestinians.” 

We greatly appreciate your integrity and courage in speaking out consistently and frequently for a just peace in Israel and Palestine. You are an inspiration to us and to many Americans of conscience, Jews and non-Jews alike.
