SUMMARY:Kumzits: Convo about Hey Protest Partner
DESCRIPTION:Families for Justice as Healing (FJAH) deep diveJoin Kumzits to learn about the Hey solidarity protest partner this year\, Families for Justice as Healing (FJAH). Our Hey class and the BWC’s AFREJ (Acting for Racial and Economic Justice) committee are partnering with FJAH which is led by incarcerated women\, formerly incarcerated women\, and women with incarcerated loved ones working to end the incarceration of women and girls. Come hear about their campaign to pass a bill that would create a 5-year pause (or moratorium) on jail and prison construction and expansion\, without preventing essential repairs\, to allow for a focus on reducing the number of people in prison\, implementing alternatives\, and investing in communities- aka reimagining communities. There will be a panel of BWC members connected to FJAH sharing stories about why this solidarity work is important for our community.

SUMMARY:Jewish Muslim Solidarity Committee Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Jewish Muslim Solidarity Committee (JMS) works to build and strengthen constructive\, mutually supportive relations between Jews and Muslims in Greater Boston. It is especially focused on Muslims’ and Jews’ mutual interest in continuing to learn about and engage with one another\, including on difficult issues\, all the while recognizing our common interest in opposing all manifestations of Islamophobia and antisemitism\, by standing together in the face of any form of ethnic harassment. The JMSC engages in political action\, community education\, and cooperative efforts with Boston area Muslims and Jews to foster its goal of deepening Jewish-Muslim understanding and solidarity. Our work is based on our belief that human rights are universal and human communities and individuals share the same rights and responsibilities toward one another.  \nTo find out more about the meeting and get the zoom link\, please email jms@circleboston.org
