SUMMARY:Health for Palestine: Hope & Struggle in the West Bank
DESCRIPTION:Register here. \nCome join us (in person or by zoom) to hear from Nidal Al Azraq\, executive director of 1for3.org\, about events on the ground in the West Bank\, including the unprecedented levels of violence and mass displacement there. Recently back from a trip to Palestine\, he will report on the unfolding conditions and be joined by Dr. Karameh Hawash Kuemmerle\, co-founder of Doctors Against Genocide\, to talk about 1for3’s “Health for Palestine” (or “H4P”) campaign. Designed to help communities withstand the impacts and challenges of this moment\, the Health for Palestine /H4P campaign seeks to provide a holistic\, community-based model of healthcare through the training of new healthcare workers who have themselves been displaced.  \nFunds raised at the event will support 1for3’s Health for Palestine/H4P campaign. \nThis event is presented by two BWC social justice committees: the Jewish Muslim Solidarity Committee and the Palestine Solidarity Subcommittee of the IPC. He grew up in the UN-run Aida refugee camp located in Bethlehem.  \nKarameh Hawash Kuemmerle\, MD is the co-founder of Doctors Against Genocide. An assistant professor at Harvard Medical School and a pediatric neurologist at Boston Children’s Hospital\, she specializes in traumatic brain injury and epilepsy. SUMMARY:Jewish Muslim Solidarity Committee Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Jewish Muslim Solidarity Committee (JMS) works to build and strengthen constructive\, mutually supportive relations between Jews and Muslims in Greater Boston. It is especially focused on Muslims’ and Jews’ mutual interest in continuing to learn about and engage with one another\, including on difficult issues\, all the while recognizing our common interest in opposing all manifestations of Islamophobia and antisemitism\, by standing together in the face of any form of ethnic harassment. The JMSC engages in political action\, community education\, and cooperative efforts with Boston area Muslims and Jews to foster its goal of deepening Jewish-Muslim understanding and solidarity. Our work is based on our belief that human rights are universal and human communities and individuals share the same rights and responsibilities toward one another.  To find out more about the meeting and get the zoom link\, please email jms@circleboston.org
