DESCRIPTION:Join us at Jewish Voices Critique the Antisemitism Commission an important educational program about the Massachusetts Special Commission on Combatting Antisemitism on Thursday\, May 21 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Watertown Free Public Library. \nThe Commission’s recommendations\, which were released in December 2025\, and its composition\, and procedures have been criticized by many Jewish leaders and allies. Their critique centers on the fact that the Commission fails to fully or accurately address anti-semitism and puts free speech at risk.  Come learn more! \nSponsored by the Palestine Committee of Watertown Citizens for Peace\, Justice\, and the Environment.  Co-sponsored by Boston Workers Circle\, Jewish Voice for Peace Boston\, Concerned Jewish Faculty and Staff\, Sawa: Newton-area Alliance for Peace and Justice\, Massachusetts Synagogue Network on Israel Palestine\, and Together for an Inclusive Massachusetts. \nParking is available in the library parking lot and in the municipal parking lot behind CVS. DESCRIPTION:At a time of increasing authoritarianism in the United States\, in Israel/Palestine\, and beyond\, it can feel challenging to envision a more just world is possible where all peoples are free. Now is the time to learn from our ancestors\, elders\, and each other about how to resist through anti-fascist\, anti-authoritarian\, and anti-militaristic strategies and build a community and coalition that can sustain us. We aim to build a space for hope and action that can counteract complacency and despair. \nOur workshops will center Jewish leftist perspectives + teachings often left out of the Jewish mainstream and a commitment to liberation for Palestinians\, Jews\, and all peoples affected by systems of oppression.
