DESCRIPTION:Attention\, fellow crafters and resistors: BWC Mutual Aid is hosting an event for you! Join us every third Saturday of the month at the BWC building from 11am – 1pm for crafting\, community building and skill sharing! \nAll are welcome: bring your fiber craft projects\, share some crafting materials if you have extra\, and get to know our community better. \nBring your projects already in process! We will also have some supplies (extra yarn and some crochet and knitting needles donated by BWC members) if you want to start something new. This event is for every skill level!! There won’t be formal lessons in fiber arts\, but we can happily problem-solve together. \nThis event is a drop-in. Come when it feels right\, and leave when it feels right. \nRegister here.

For most of our community members\, if we want a Yiddish-speaking environment\, we have to proactively create one—so that’s what we’re doing! Here are some guidelines for being part of a language-immersion activity. \nAsking how to say something? Perfectly fine; we do this all the time. Tossing in a short English word or phrase—especially an idiom or quote—while keeping the conversation in Yiddish? Common among American Yiddish speakers and also perfectly fine. However\, we ask participants to avoid telling anecdotes or otherwise speaking in English for an extended period of time. Conversing in English disrupts the Yiddish-language environment\, and it takes away learning opportunities for students. Yiddish speakers and students at all levels are welcome at farbreng. It’s normal to feel nervous about your Yiddish\, but we applaud and encourage all students and speakers to use Yiddish.
