SUMMARY:Jewish Muslim Solidarity Committee Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Jewish Muslim Solidarity Committee (JMS) works to build and strengthen constructive\, mutually supportive relations between Jews and Muslims in Greater Boston. It is especially focused on Muslims’ and Jews’ mutual interest in continuing to learn about and engage with one another\, including on difficult issues\, all the while recognizing our common interest in opposing all manifestations of Islamophobia and antisemitism\, by standing together in the face of any form of ethnic harassment. The JMSC engages in political action\, community education\, and cooperative efforts with Boston area Muslims and Jews to foster its goal of deepening Jewish-Muslim understanding and solidarity. Our work is based on our belief that human rights are universal and human communities and individuals share the same rights and responsibilities toward one another.  To find out more about the meeting and get the zoom link\, please email jms@circleboston.org

Her stories remain fresh and relevant\, a century after they were written. Shtok’s poems are crafted with breathtaking precision and passion and her essays are illuminating. Studying Shtok’s texts in Yiddish enables the reader to savor tthe sensuous sounds\, wordplay and musicality that are present throughout her work.
