SUMMARY:Yiddish May Day Shabes
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the May Day workers’ holiday with a special Shabes program conducted in Yiddish. Non-Yiddish speakers are welcome! Written English translations and transliterations will be provided for the readings and the songs. \nThis event is pay-what-you-can (suggested donation of $5 to $10+). Registration is required. \nAll registrants (in person and online) will be invited to actively participate\, with the option to read aloud from the program. The written program will be provided closer to the date to those who register.  Shmoozing will begin at 6pm; the program will begin at 6:15. \nThe Shabes ceremony will be followed by an optional potluck dinner (and more singing) for those attending in person. If you attend the potluck\, please bring food to share (your choice of a main\, side\, salad\, or dessert dish).  \nIf you are attending online\, here is a list of ritual items that we invite you to have during the ceremony: \n\ncandles\nwine or juice\nchallah\n\nRegister here.
