DESCRIPTION:Sawa and The Brookline Peace Coalition invite you to join us at United Parish in Brookline for an evening filled with powerful poetry and storytelling. Mosab Abu Toha will captivate you with his moving words and unique perspective\, while celebrating the indomitable women of Gaza on International Women’s Day. This in-person event promises to be a memorable experience that you won’t want to miss! \nThe event is co-sponsored by Palestine Children’s Relief Fund\, The Islamic Center of Boston – Wayland\, Congregation Dorshei Tzadek\, and Boston Workers Circle. \nBrookline Booksmith will be on site for book purchase. The Booksmith will also provide an opportunity for attendees to make donations to Mosab’s Edward Said Libraries in Gaza. \nMosab Abu Toha is a Palestinian poet\, short story writer\, and essayist from Gaza. Abu Toha is the author of Things You May Find Hidden in My Ear: Poems from Gaza (2022\, City Lights)\, which won a 2022 Palestine Book Award. His most recent book\, Forest of Noise\, was published in October\, 2024. Abu Toha is the founder of the Edward Said Library\, from 2019 to 2020 he was a visiting poet and librarian-in-residence at Harvard University.
