DESCRIPTION:Tentative Agenda: \n\nReports from subcommittees\, ad-hoc groups\, etc. \nReport about the International Court of Justice decision and what it means\nSmall-group discussions on the use of the word “genocide” \nBrainstorm and feedback on the potential demands that we would put into a new statement about Gaza \n\nAs you can see\, we intend to have some deep and important discussions at this meeting\, so we hope you will be able to attend.  In preparation\, we recommend the following readings/viewings\, etc.  \n\nBrant Rosen Op-Ed\, Sept. 2023\, “On Yom Kippur\, Solidarity With Palestinians Is a Sacred Act.\n” Rosen makes an argument for using language without fear. While he doesn’t explicitly talk about genocide\, he talks about other terms\, such as apartheid and settler colonialism. \n“The ICJs Ruling Was the First Crack in Israel’s Armor of Impunity.” \nBarghouti webinar hosted at Harvard: “Why the BDS movement has never been more important – a discussion with Omar Barghouti.” Barghouti has studied the South Africa anti-apartheid movement and this webinar includes lots of meaty ideas about both this moment and the long-term future; if you don’t have time for the whole thing\, watch the first 30 minutes.
