JANUARY INTERSESSION YIDDISH LANGUAGE COURSES

Level 2:  Reading & Conversation Class for Beginner 2 & Advanced Beginners | 4 weeks | Starts Jan. 6

Wednesday evenings, 7:30pm - 9:00pm

 

Students will read through portions of Mayn Folk, a Yiddish-language narrative of Jewish Bible stories and history written at a level appropriate for students who completed the Fall 2020 Boston Workers Circle's Beginner 2 or Advanced Beginner classes. New students who already know the Yiddish alefbeys and who are comfortable reading and constructing simple sentences in Yiddish are welcome to join. The focus will be on practicing reading skills and building vocabulary, with the opportunity to practice speaking Yiddish to discuss the story.

 

 

Class Size:  5 – 12 students

OUR INSTRUCTOR FOR JANUARY INTERSESSION

Jonah Sidman is native of Brooklyn and a graduate of Oberlin College. He is an educator at the Museum of Science and at Boston Workers Circle's children's Shule. He can often be found fiddling for American or Irish folk dances all over the East Coast, and speaking/singing in Yiddish locally. Having studied Yiddish at Boston Workers Circle, he's pleased to now share his knowledge with new students.
