Youth | Teens Teens Acting for Social Change (TASC)
TASC is a different kind of youth group. The teens come together to learn about, deliberate, and take action on social justice issues of their choice.
The current TASC action involves advocacy for funding of youth jobs. Read about it here.
Here are some of the issues TASC members have chosen to work on over the past five years:
- Youth violence
- Immigrant rights
- Union organizing
- Same sex marriage
- The war in Iraq
- Israeli/Palestinian conflict
- Prisoner rights
Plus, each year TASC has teamed up with Cape Verdean teens to present an original set of four questions at the annual Cape Verdean-Jewish Passover Seder.
Teens run the group with the assistance of a paid coordinator.
New members welcome for the 10-11 school year!
Open to Shule graduates and ALL other interested teens. Contact Christopher at Christopher@bostonmobilization.org or (617) 276-5873 for more info.
