Yiddishkayt | Yiddish Lecture Series A NEW GENERATION SPEAKS YIDDISH!
(A talk, in Yiddish, free and open to the public)
Monday, June 28
7:30 pm
Workmen's Circle, 1762 Beacon Street, Brookline
Come meet Sholem Berger, a doctor by trade and an active Yiddishist. Sholem is speaking Yiddish with his children and has translated the children's classics "The Cat in the Hat", "One Fish, Two Fish" and "Curious George" into Yiddish. He has also been part of creating an active Yiddish community in New York and his new home in Baltimore, to bring Yiddish to a new generation. He will speak in Yiddish about these efforts and read some of his own poetry as well. Copies of his books will be on sale at the event.
