Parent Circle: Bread and Roses

55 Naples Rd, Brookline

Parent Circles are an important opportunity for parents to get to know each other and discuss topics relevant to the Shule curriculum. On January 22, we will be discussing the 100th Anniversary of the Bread and Roses Strike in Lawrence, MA and the upcoming Workmen's Circle commemoration on April 29. Drop your kids at shule and then join the parent community for coffee, bagels, schmoozing and some stimulating discussion.

Teens Celebrate Dr. King

On Martin Luther King Day, Teens Acting for Social Change (TASC) joined over 100 teens from a dozen different communities to celebrate King’s legacy, build relationships with each other, and prepare for taking action in the coming year – not next year or in ten years – but now.

Unplugging the Hanukkah Machine

We are in the midst of the holiday season, with carols on the radio, glitz in the stores, and the news telling us how important holiday buying is for the U.S. economy.  How can we navigate this consumerist environment?

Family Mitzvah Days

Organized by Hebrew Senior Life, the "Mitzvah Day" program is an opportunity to meet and visit with local Jewish seniors and to bring them some holiday cheer and treats.  Volunteer families meet at the end of Shule (Sunday School) and then head out to local senior housing sites where they spend about an hour visiting with the residents. The “treats” are provided by Hebrew Senior Life. Mitzvah Days are a fun and rewarding experience for everyone.

Family Mitzvah Day

Meet at Workmen's Circle immediately after Shule

Join other Shule families for a fun and meaningful Mitzvah Day at a senior housing community in Brighton, about a 5-minute drive from Shule.

TASC + Parents Meeting

21 Berkeley St, Cambridge, MA*

Join us for a meeting of Teens Acting for Social Change (TASC) and a gathering of parents of TASC teens.

Parent Circle: Occupy the Holidays

55 Naples Rd, Brookline

Please join the Parent Circle conversation about progressive Jewish values, multi-cultural holiday celebrations, materialism, and the 99%. This is a challenging time of year to confront the dominant consumer-defined culture, especially for non-traditional families. We're planning a lively discussion and look forward to as much participation as possible as we support each other in this engaging forum / general assembly.
