The Yiddish reading group that meets at Boston Workmen’s Circle is inviting new members. We are presently reading stories by Avraham Karpinovich’s, the son of a theater impresario in Vilna in the early 20th century, who writes with great humor and insight about interesting characters of that time and place.

We meet Friday mornings at the Workmen’s Circle from 11 to 12:30. Our next meetings will be on March 8, March 15, and March 29, April 5, and April 12.

We are presently reading “Di Vunderlekh Teyorie fun Shuster Prentsik”, which is in “Oyf Vilner Gasn”, also available from the NYBC at this link

We will read next "The Red Flag / Di Royte Fon"  which is in “Oyf Vilner Gasn”, also available from the NYBC at this link

Translations of these stories are in a book of collected stories by Karpinovich, translated by Helen Mintz. Here is a link to purchase that book

If you would like more information about the group you can write to Mark Stewart madestew@gmail.com or call him at 617-710-2447.
