Trader Joe's action CANCELLED
TJ's settles with CIW!

Yesterday, Trader Joe's and the Coalition of Immokalee Workers announced that Trader Joe's had signed on to the CIW's Fair Food Agreement. This is a powerful statement for justice from the food industry!  Read the full press release here, and next time you visit Trader Joe's, make a point to thank them for doing their part to support farmworkers.

The protest this Sunday is called off. From the CIW website: "The CIW thanks the tens of thousands of Fair Food activists around the country who helped make this tremendous step forward possible, especially those who had planned actions in over 40 cities this coming weekend. Naturally, in light of today's great news, the CIW is calling off the actions planned for the new Trader Joe's store in Naples. Similarly, we ask that all other actions planned for this weekend be cancelled, and that organizers and consumers who were planning to attend instead take a moment to congratulate Trader Joe's for having joined the Fair Food Program."

Boston Workmen's Circle also wants to congratulate our fifth grade students who organized a powerful action at Trader Joe's in December. Our actions make a difference!
