“My task is not to debate whether I’m a Jew or not, but to figure out what kind of Jew I am. For me, finding a secular Jewish community with progressive politics fits my version of that identity.”
The Workmen's Circle's Jewish Muslim Relations Committee is partnering with Muslim's Against Hunger to help staff their volunteer initiative at Rosie's Place Soup Kitchen on the third Sunday of each month. This interfaith effort pairs Jews and Muslims to help prep, serve and clean up a meal. Volunteers must be 13 years+. Only a limited number of volunteer spaces are available each month. Donations to sponsor meals at $6.07 per meal are also welcome. If you're interested in participating this month or other times, please contact Laura Derman at laura.derman@gmail.com or 617-738-4839.
