Monthly AFREJ Action: Attend GBIO Action

Bethel AME Church: 40 Walk Hill St., Jamaica Plain

The Acting for Racial & Economic Justice Committee is profiling one action per month for BWC members to attend together to show up together for justice and resistance.

This month, AFREJ will attend the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization (GBIO) Action on Thursday, Feb 2nd. Arrive by 6:45pm for a 7pm sharp start at Bethel AME Church: 40 Walk Hill  St., Jamaica Plain close to the Forrest Hills T stop.

Featured issues will be 1) Criminal Justice Reform, including Solitary Confinement, Mandatory Minimums for Drug Offenses, and changing our Pre-Trial Bail process; 2) Affordable Housing, following up on the CPA victory in Boston; 3) the effect on Health Care given the Trump election; and 4) Gun Safety.

The Boston City Council, and the state’s Black and Latino Legislative caucus have been invited and many will be in attendance. We need a large crowd–the goal is over 700 people to impress upon our elected officials the power of GBIO and the importance of supporting our agenda.

We would like to see a large Boston Workmen’s Circle contingent. Please RSVP: Steve Vogel at strongvog@rcn.com.
