“There are a lot of organizations doing political organizing, but I think we’re working on something different here in terms of talking about it as a community. It really struck home for me when we had the Shabbat dinner for gay and lesbian marriage.”
Our Brookline brownstone, conveniently located on Beacon Street, is a welcoming and affordable facility for meetings, lectures, conferences, and parties. Classrooms and the multi-function room are well suited to events of 100 people or fewer. Kitchen access is also available. See below for our rates! Discounts are available for Boston Workmen's Circle members.
We’re conveniently located on the Green Line between Washington Square and Cleveland Circle, and have ample on-street parking. Organizing a conference that requires multiple break-out rooms? Hosting a party that’s too big for your house? This is the perfect location. Our space features theater lighting, a piano, whiteboards, and plenty of tables and chairs.
Facilities are available all weekday evenings and weekends, as well as for weekday and after school activities. As a courtesy to our residential neighbors, however, we do not rent our space for evening events with amplified music.
Consistent with our commitment to permitting the airing of a diversity of views, we maintain a broadly open rental policy, and may rent to individuals or groups whose views are controversial within and/or beyond our membership. We may exercise the discretion not to rent to individuals and groups whose purpose or program clearly conflicts with our core mission of promoting Jewish education, culture, and social justice – in particular labor, immigrant, and human rights, intercultural understanding, democratic values, and the pursuit of peace in the Middle East. Our support for human rights includes, among other things, opposition to racism, sexism, anti-Semitism, homophobia, and Islamophobia.
Accessibility: We deeply regret that our building is not wheelchair accessible. We are working towards improving and updating our building, and look forward to having a building that is more accessible in the not too distant future.
If you have any questions please, don’t hesitate to contact us. Give us a call, or email the office at firstname.lastname@example.org to tour the building or reserve space.
