Gragger Radical Purim Party | Family Purim Carnival | Jewish Muslim Solidarity Shabes

Dear Friend,
Last Sunday, 135 BWC members came to our internal community conversation about Israel/Palestine and the Jewish Community Relations Council. With toddlers, teenagers, young adults, parents, boomers, and octogenarians present - we engaged in meaningful conversations, shared information, and dreamed up our collective visions for the future of BWC and the broader Jewish community.

By the end of the meeting, the walls were covered in newsprint filled with colorful expressions of support and pride, ideas for community education around Israel/Palestine, and bold and creative ways to take action. Missed the meeting and want to get involved? Click here to join as a dues-paying member. We were excited to welcome 40 new members to our community this month following the JCRC vote. More information and next steps coming soon.
Meanwhile, Purim is right around the corner - please join us for our family-friendly Purim Carnival & Celebration on Sunday, March 24 and our radical Purim party, Gragger! on Saturday, March 16. We will also be celebrating International Women's Day with a special Jewish-Muslim Solidarity Shabes on Friday, March 8. See below for a full list of upcoming programs.

We were saddened to learn about the death of Brookline librarian, activist, and cyclist Paula Sharaga, 69, who was a friend to many members of our community. In the words of a BWC member and friend, Paula was "a
good friend and jewel of human being, with angelic giving to improve everything and everyone's circumstances- non-stop."

There will be a Ghost Bike Ceremony for Paula this Sunday at 2pm at the North West corner of the intersection of Brookline Avenue & Park Drive in the Fenway neighborhood, and a Celebration of Paula's Life this Sunday at 5:30pm at the Coolidge Corner Library. A Sheynem Dank - Thank You!
Have some gratitude for your BWC community?
Email Michelle to post it to the newsletter!
Thank you so much to everyone who played a role in supporting our community conversation about Israel and Palestine! Thank you to our team of greeters and registration volunteers, the 20+ people who facilitated our small groups, everyone who helped with the event planning and who presented, and of course to all of our members who participated.
We want to particularly thank Carlos Rios, who showed up as an ally to provide support at the door for de-escalation and helped us live into our values of safety through solidarity, rather than relying on police presence for security. Read a full appreciation of Carlos here
