EDUCATION
Adult Jewish Education
Courses on Jewish history, thought, and practice from a secular perspective.
Sunday Kumzitz
A bagel brunch featuring speakers and discussion on a variety of social issues, historical, and cultural topics.
Circle Book Group
Monthly readings and discussion.
ARTS AND CULTURE
A Besere Velt (A Better World), Yiddish Community Chorus
A multi-generational “voice for justice.” No auditions and no prior knowledge of Yiddish required.
Circle Coffeehouse
A night out and community gathering place wrapped into one.
Klezmer Jam
A monthly drop-in guided klezmer jam for all instruments, all levels.
SOCIAL JUSTICE/SOCIAL ACTION
Social Action Working Groups
Learn, organize, sing and march for justice. Ongoing activities include children’s protest against sweatshops, Mideast peace, labor solidarity, and local Jewish-Muslim relations.
HOLIDAYS
Holiday Celebrations and Observances
Come together as community on major Jewish holidays and historic anniversaries. Secular programs offered on Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukes, Chanukah, Purim, Passover, the anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising and May Day.
Shabes Community Potlucks
A time to take a breath and share community with friends and family.
FAMILY CIRCLE
Shule
A secular, progressive Jewish Sunday school for children ages 5-13. Teaches Jewish culture and history rooted in a universal commitment to freedom and justice, culminating in a collective bar/bas mitzvah.
Family Holiday Gatherings
Participate together with your young children in family High Holiday services, shabes sing-alongs, Passover and Tu B’Shvat seders and more.
Teens Acting for Social Change
A youth group focused on social justice issues and action.
Parent Circle
Facilitated discussions for Shule parents about the joys and challenges of raising children with a Jewish identity in the context of our many family identities.
YOUNG ADULT CIRCLE
Young Adult Initiative
Join folks in their 20s and 30s who, inspired by the history of Workmen’s Circle as a mutual aid society, are building new forms of collective support through skill shares, shabes dinners, courses and….fun!
YIDDISH
Yiddish Language Classes
Beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.
Yiddish Lectures
Stretch your mind and your Yiddish.
Yiddish Vinkls
Informal monthly conversation groups in a variety of locations.
Yiddish Sing
